Computers Upbringer
"The spot of the coder near the neuro-computer will be taken by a person, who will grow problem-solving skills in the machine and develop its learning abilities." (c) A. Gorban', 1990, USSR.
My friend just showed me an amazing article from 1990, written by A. Gorban’ from USSR. The article is called “Neural network training”. It is, needless to say, written in Russian.
In retrospect, there are quite some interesting ideas and visions of AI development. In the introduction, there is a discussion on the future of the Neural Networks field. The author says, that instead of coding/programming there will be training/upbringing. And therefore, (two) new professions will appear:
1) Neuro-constructor - someone who will construct general neural blocks and build neural-computers out of these blocks (looks like all the GPU/CUDA/Edge devices hardware/software stuff, right?),
and
2) - I like this part - Trainer or Upbringer (sic!) of computers.
The spot of the coder near the neuro-computer will be taken by a person, who will grow problem-solving skills in the machine and develop its learning abilities.
If you ask to google, Upbringing - is “the treatment and instruction received by a child from its parents throughout its childhood”. In Russian, "upbringer" is a person, who works with children in kindergarten.
My God, despite this interesting retrospective vision from the past, I fell in love with this second definition. I will call myself “Machine upbringer” from now on!^^
Should go to take care of my cute little neural networks.
